Firestorm Head Canons (Ages)

I have a few fun head canons. Side note, when I think about head canon's for older media I feel like I should talk about them, because they are old and feel untouchable.

BUT ANYWAYS-

I have the head canon that Ronnie Raymond is the same age as Jason Todd.

Like, Jason would be like "Can I join the Justice League?" and Bruce would be like "No, your too young." and Jason would just be like "RONNIE AND I ARE THE SAME AGE-"

It could have good funnies. It would be even funnier if Ronnie was like a few months younger-

But also, Firestorm joined the Justice League when Ronnie is 15, and Jason gets killed when he is 15, so they are only around each other for a short period of time! THEN! When Jason finally comes back to everyone and stuff when he's 19, he and Ronnie are only around for another short time- BEFORE RONNIE DIES-

The next time they meet, they are like "Who's it gonna be this time? haha- sobs."

I have another head canon that Jason Rusch is the same age as Tim Drake. (If Tim was allowed to be older than 17 or Jason Rusch is like a year older.)

Anyways- Jason Rusch gets the Firestorm matrix at like 17, then runs around as Firestorm for a year or so then Ronnie comes back!

And because Ronnie looks the exact same as he did when he died, he and Jason Rusch are somewhat the same age now, and Ronnie is now younger than Jason Todd. (Which he will meme on him for.)

Anyways- Martin is said to be in his early 40s (I think 43 if I remember correctly) Which means he's like 47 when Ronnie is killed- WHY THEY GOTTA DRAW HIM SO OLD!? Why they gotta do my boy Martin so dirty!? BRUCE IS AROUND THAT AGE! WHYYY!!

I think Martin got all that gray dealing with a 15 year old super hero whos powers deal with Chemistry. Ronnie.

But yeah, those are just my fun little age head canons. Theres not much interaction between these characters, and I just like the idea that thats whats been going on when we don't see stuff in the comics. Idk I think its fun.

Hi fellow netizen! I'm sure the mainland would like to read the comics but that really opens up a can of worms that I'm not prepared to deal with yet, so for now I'll refrain from translating the comics.

1: Tommy has the happiest life compared to the rest of the main cast I wouldn't worry too much about him lol

2: mm it's much more complicated, I also think my audience expects a political opinion from me. It ties to my own experiences with asian culture in general. I am very critical, but I think the public expectation to what I'm critical of is kinda skewed at the moment. There's so much nuance to this story I hope people have a healthy discussion over the conclusion of Zoey's arc in the future.

3: Yellow, Blue and Red are the key colours. What they represent is up to your own interpretation. To me yellow is the self/your values, blue is career/ambition, and red is religion/community/family. There's more colours down the road but these are the most important ones. If there's going to be discussions over the story please feel free to create those spaces! I haven't done so because I am the main writer and I would like these things to happen naturally in the future. It feels wrong for me to create a space as someone with complete authority over the story.

I don't think Viktor will lose interest due to science. I think the one thing he'll flip over is the use of metal and human artefacts. But being an avid student of the mysteries of Eywa, he'd see how they can complement each other.

For example, Viktor would see the dream walker's neural link as something weak and feeble. Eywa could transfer consciousness. The people all "pass" through her, after all.

However, he'd about lose it at cloning. You're saying he could have a new body made, without illness, and then use his own superior technique to transfer bodies? But there's no way Piltover base would grow a whole ass Na'vi over a decade just to please the locals.

Jayce would definitely offer to have a better brace made, and metal pins in his spine, which would be a super contencious thing.

So far what I have is that Viktor was born with a weaker leg, nothing bad, but it made him limp a bit and lose his footing. One day he fall down a cliff face and broke that same leg even worse (hence the scar under the brace)

He's been using braces he makes himself since, and canes where possible. Zaunites live in a large canyon, so there are a lot of steep cliffs, but Viktor's on better footing now. He doesn't have a lung disease, but he has issues due to the amount of time he spends in the caverns beneath. It has a lot of strange gases down there, but if you delve deep, you can access an enormous root of spirit tree, around which zaunites are buried.

He's down there often enough to have coughing issues and allergies. He's generally not super healthy, but not as bad as human Viktor. He's not on a death timer.

I wouldn't want the story to focus on that. Though I really like their timeloop arc for all its visuals, it's just not something I'd want to implement here, though them having new bodies/becoming new people is definitely part of the theme.

Do you have any advice for people who might want to get into making comics like yours? I'm always pleasantly surprised by how fast you pump them out and even have other little projects/doodles on the side. How do you keep the quality consistent?

First off - Thank you !! I'm honored you like my lil guys and comics hehe! (and no worries on the tone !! I didn't think it sounded cold at all!)

Alright secondly lets see...

Short answer: You really just gotta start and keep going!! Once you start you get the momentum and it gets much easier (like riding a bike, which people like to use as comparison often).

Long answer:

Alright I thought about how to answer for this for a bit and I think I'll break it down to the main aspects.

So timing ! Basically I'm drawing 24/7 (and I'm currently not working as it's an off time for me, but I shall in a week and you will see that my posting frequency will decrease substantially). Ok maybe not 24/7 but I essentially am drawing from the moment I wake up to when I sleep (minus eating, restroom, working out, some errands) and while I do not say this is the key to being better, I'm just realistically displaying how much time I'm spending on drawing. (... one of my new years resolution is to not in fact do that and go out more because I feel like I'm being cooped up in my room a lot haha). But minus the amount of time I spend itself a lot of it has to do with the importance I take in speed drawing. And when I say that I mean quite literally how fast I can draw. AND I think a large part of where that speed comes from is how I like to generalize designs and just my overall process of drawing. (Which, I will not go over now but if you'd like I could make a separate post on how I go about doing my usual sketch, lines, colors, etc) Like, I love ff and all of it's crazy designs but it's so complicated I simplify everything till it's juussstt recognizable, and that's something I feel like really adds to the speed of things.

Also that's sweet of you to say for the quality haha (I always am thinking stuff like ah man this aint it... not my finest work, and then just post anyways cuz who cares I already made it heh)! That being said my quality wasn't alwaysss consistent! Here's an example of my very first "comic" I made for my characters:

So I've been basically drawing comics for this for just about 2 years now (will be 2 years officially in a few months) and I most certainly did not get here in one night. I think, as I've mentioned, it's really important to keep up with the comic making (or drawing in general) so that, yes, you can get better, but the way you get better is that it becomes familiar to you. So you can approach concepts and ideas with a more experience. And I think a large part of what holds alot of people back is the idea that "ah I can't do this idea I'm not good enough." So what !! Still do it, I most certainly did it a couple years ago when I barely scribbled my ideas. And then you can totally go back and redraw it ! no "Rule" saying you can't go back and revisit your ideas, like hell even professional artists go back and republish their works with their improved art styles ! (ex. Tokyo Ghoul... even though I don't care for the story, it's still pretty cool! I think he even added more scenes? Anyways..). I think there was that one post going around where it was something like do it scared and that's really REALLY what you gotta do.

And that leads to my final point. You gotta love doing it. I like to make comics because I LOVE my characters, their story, and actually the act of putting it all together into a story, drawn comic, visuals, etc. And, I found my method of loving them. For me, what held me back was the "structure" of comics. I mean you can p much see that the way I like to do things is def not the "traditional" manga/western comic book style right? I won't go as far to say that I "made up this way" of comic making where it's one panel at a time but it certainly worked for me. (I have no idea how many comic wips I have collecting dust in my folders from my earilier days of making this comic where I just gave up 20% of the way in because I really could not vibe with the formatting, but then I figured out I really like to "thumbnail" comics (a result of when I was studying storyboards alot imo) and I went on from there).

This is where I feel like alot of people get stuck too. Where they really do like their ideas, their character, their stories and such, but as soon as they try and go through the process of creating in a certain way... the wind is just instantly taken out of their sails. And while I do believe sometimes you just gotta push through and do it anyways, sometimes that's not the right method to go about it. So instead of brute forcing a method of creation and eventually forming a bad relationship with the process, find a method that works for you. And maybe it doesn't look all that great or good compared to others, but that comes in time and as long as you like doing it, that's what really matters at the end of the day.

Tl;dr: be a lil freak, and lil weird about what you do (this applies to everything, not only art :3)

I have 3 questions about Chicken Nugget (Rodimus x Minimus sparkling)

1. What's his alt mood?

2. What's his color palette? Is it just like Rodimus's to a t or did Minimus's green and white sneak in somehow?

3. Does he have a favorite toy?

HELLOOO gawsh what did my friend do why am i getting chicken nugget asks (i know nothing about him <:3) THANK YOU THO very flattered to be getting questions

He turns into a turbofox like his carrier!! Here's some old doodles i did when i was trying to figure out what he looks like (sorry about my handwriting)

He has a lot of "fluff" cos he has a lot of spikey kibble that translates into spikes in his altmode as well. This includes him looking like he has a spoiler and shoulder things like rodimus (the shoulder things are actually more like the ones on root mode 113 we see in the comics but its convenient that they look like rodimus :p)

Personally hc that minimus is kinda "bald" as a fox cos look at his root mode? No signs of fox at all?? I think they all got shaved off for practical reasons but we wont go into that now HAHA (like i think even his tail was removed and he would not have a tail in alt mode unless he has one reattached. Doodles above include the tail tho cos he does put da tail back later)

2. Honestly have not drawn him much so have not gotten around to figuring out his colour palette yet... the only thing i have decided on is that his optics are red?

For the rest of the colours, considering something like this:

OR some combination or white, yellow, green. Problem with colours is i gotta actually put them down in a drawing to see what looks nice :p

3. I dont think he has a favourite toy, but roddy and mims would argue about which is his favourite HAHA

I think maybe if it came down to 2 toys that are his favourite, one would be something he can bite and chew on. To minimus' chagrin, rodimus got one that has either a bell or like the crunchy material inside so it makes a lot of noise when chicken nugget is chewing on it

The other one would be something that moves and zips around like a cat toy that he can chase and pounce on. Good at keeping him entertained and also trains things like motor skills, senses, etc etc (mims got it cos it was Useful)

OBVIOUSLY both rodimus and mims think their toy is the favourite tho

So, right off the bat, this thing doesn't have a name. Nor can I seem to find their reference? But I have drawings. So stay tuned to see those

I haven't actually figured out how to squirm them into the story by any means so haha. WHOOPS

But I can tell you the ideas so far

I wanted their role to sort of be something in between Jasper and Rachel? Basically being a "ends up being seen as a protoge for both Jekyll and Hyde for different reasons"

While initially a little too innocent-seeming for Hyde's trouble-making, they eventually find a much-needed freedom if they somehow convince him to bring them along

On the other hand, they like Jekyll, but they find his way of speaking to be *too* rehearsed, and eventually can't tell if he's just Like That or if he's keeping them at arms length

I like to think they'd get closer to him by convincing him to be a bit more laid back (when possible) through a very gutting sequence where he sees them starting to mirror him and thinks he's made a good influence on them,

But through conversations with Hyde, they mention that while they do look up to him, they're actually just copying Jekyll's more posh demeanor because they feel *ashamed* of being more rough around the edges when he's there

So Jekyll starts to ease up so that they see him as less of a cold-hearted-ever-shaming asshole (exaggeration, of course. Maybe Hyde's words)

Now. If that wasn't self-indulgent enough for ya, STRAP IN, because this is where even I get a little embarrassed sharing it because of how much it is

At some point or another, I like the idea of Hyde going into a sort of spiral?

Because instead of trying to stop his chaos for safety's sake, like Rachel, or trying to stop him for goodness' (and also safety's) sake, like Jekyll,

They don't try to stop him *at all.* Yet, still don't entirely agree with the amount of trouble he causes.

And something something, this contradiction perplexes him so strongly he starts to go into a sort of "if IM darkness eternal then what is that thing. Why is it so nice. How can it be so nice while not being evil with me. Is it an angel or some shit" and goes a little mad while Jekyll desperately pleads for him to take a breath

Honestly I don't know about revenge on cazador! In game he Needs Astarion for the ritual so tracks him down...but in this situation he doesn't need him, he used threats to keep him under control but I don't think he would go to another city to search. I also think it's more realistic, traffickers lose their grip on people who actually get out, and find new people who are easier to control. Its also like...I made it easier than it often would be, because I didn't want to write drugs into an AU, but often that's a big factor in being trapped- dealer+employer+protector all rolled into one grim bundle.

Sky asking this makes sense as he and sun are the newest to the group at this point.

This circle around this orange arrow. I believe this is the arrow that Wild has chosen for them to approach. Orange if I had to give you a guess is Twilight's colour. Mainly from this bit before.

Backgrounds give a lot of information by themselves. This looks like a Twili portal.

The reason Wild chose that is unknown to me. During one of his adventures, he encountered Wolfie. So it makes sense. Maybe he was able to identify his name as Twilight. Or called the wolf that himself.

I suppose the next arc will give us more information!

Yay it's done!!! This was so fun to do, and really pushed me to work on my lineart in a way I haven't had to before and also grayscale shading. I read this scene and....immediately wanted to draw it. So....I did!!

A sweet little scene from the amazing fic Asagohan no Aru Seibutsu (Still Life with Breakfast) by @russenoire!! Sorry I couldn't get the ceiling-high skewers I tried and it....looked like a wacky haystack. SO you can imagine that there is a HUGE stack of sticks behind the bowls. Also chairs are hard to draw so they are just ~shapes~ haha

If his inward smile at that is visible on his lips, he’s glad for it. Don’t ever change, Teru. ‘I wanna ask what you’re doing that might involve arson, but… yeah, I probably shouldn’t.’

Teruki leans in across the table anyway, eyes wide and ominous, his mouth pressed into a tight line, and lays a single dark word in his ear. ‘Barbecue.’ Teruki’s face right now. He—he can’t… That’s it; he’s done. A single wheeze breaches his lungs and heaves over them both in spasms of noisy joy, clashing merrily with Teruki’s own hearty squeals just as the server returns with their drinks. Teruki’s so far gone he can’t even speak; he raises a hand mid-howl and nods a thanks somewhere in the man’s general direction.

• as always, 2 out of 3 planner/journals, take up at least 2-3 hrs a week as i write the daily pages from my phone notes

• i would like to go to the park more, i wish i had energy to walk and draw again but i just go to the playground swings for my mental health occationally now 😔

• i am reading so many danmei novels like one after another.. balancing my time between reading and doing other things is a careful balance

• winter holiday gifts are on my mind.. one has been ordered but many more to figure out..

idk like theres comics to read too and games to play, and books to read, and so much art supplies i shud fucking use one of these days.. need to get back into watercolours lol.....

I’ve been gone for so long but I have so much to say and idk how to say it so please be prepared for an absolute mess of an ask lol

First, I just really wanna give appreciation for Super Emeralds (The comic creator) and their dedication to THOAM. I’ve been on Tumblr for just a little more than a year at this point, and I only joined in the first place because of this comic. I got into it way back in… What was it, 2020?? 2021? And I fell in love immediately with the concept! Sonic feeling insecure about his new Werehog form? Chip being an active member of the team and a great friend?? TEAM DARK??? SONADOW DONE RIGHT?????????? Ohohoho! You can bet I was completely on board! I tried my best to comment on every page, because I just love giving positive feedback for things I enjoy, and took note of how Super Emeralds evolved their style as the years went on. I wasn’t there during the beginning, and I really wish I was, but the time I’ve spent following this fun little comic has made me feel so much appreciation not just for Super Emeralds as a person, but for the entire Sonic art community as a whole! Art is a creative endeavor, a passionate career, and sometimes it’s really hard to just. Draw. Comics are especially hard as I’ve discovered. So just… Good job to Super Emeralds for sticking around all these years and for giving us such an incredibly thought out and beloved series. And thank you.

ALRIGHT ENOUGH OF THAT MUSHY GUSHY STUFF AND LET’S TALK ABOUT THE BLUE BOY HIMSELF THAT IS NOW NO LONGER JUST BLUE MUAHAHAHAHASHEHEHEKEFHEOFHFFPWEHFLFHD

I’ve been a bit absent from Tumblr for the last few weeks due to sickness and lack of interest so I am undoubtedly missing a page or two from the equation but OH MY GOSH. POOR SONIC. Bro wakes up from like a 2-day long nap and the first thing he sees is his little brother screaming in his face at 3AM. He’s so confused haha! I noticed he isn’t as insecure or he isn’t really freaking out as much as I assumed he would way back during the exposition pages. This is obviously due to the confusion and whiplash after waking up as his “Normal” self again, but I feel like it’s just him putting on another fascade around his friends. To an extent, at least. He isn’t aware of the new pink markings all over his body and he isn’t aware of just how worried all his friends were. All he knows is that they know about his new form and they for some reason aren’t acting weird about it, so he’s likely just playing along to make sure nobody gets overly concerned. It just seems like something he’d do. Or maybe I’m just grasping at the angst straws, idk.

OMEGA IS FIXED BY THE WAY I DO NOT WISH TO GLOSS OVER THAT FACT. THE BOY IS BACK!! THE ROBO BOYO IS BACK!!! I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE ALL THE CRIMES HE’LL BE ABLE TO COMMIT ONCE TAILS GETS THOSE ROCKET LAUNCHERS WORKING AGAIN HEHEHEEE

Also let’s not gloss over how Omega doesn’t care that Sonic mauled him to death. Let’s not gloss over the fact that Omega clearly cares for the others because of his ignorance to Sonic’s rampage.

The first part labeled 9 was the last concept image for the comic in which Flint scares Lotti with his flames. After that they're all concepts for a bunch of photos for one of the asks I got forever ago in which Flint was asked if he likes kids. The answer, clearly, is yes, as he has hundreds of photos of mostly Blossom, but also some other kids he knows in the area haha. He just likes his 'niece' the most.

I could have named this post “latest comic related questions” or “toilet related questions” or even “urinating habits related questions” (piss headcanons??), but I just know I’ll never get an opportunity to name anything “piss-related questions” ever in my life again, so I’ll indulge myself this time.

But first I want to mention that I’m super happy with how much you liked it. We had a completely shit-posting discussion about everything that’s going on in this comic after another piss-related comic we posted some time ago, so it’s kind of a sequel to that. I honestly thought that we wouldn’t do anything with it, because we, as always, have too much other stuff to draw, but we were having a really bad day and making a stupid comic felt like the only thing that was meant to happen that day (and I was emotionally incapable of drawing anything good).

We love making stupid stuff. And it’s always fun when other people find it funny lol

Ortho really told Idia’s bottle-pissing secret to the worst people possible, the entire school knew about it after just 2 minutes lol Normally they would keep a secret to use it as blackmail, but the Tweels found it way too hilarious, and Azul found it way too scandalous to ignore…

Jade and Floyd really are kind of chaotic because of their oceanic background, but Azul really tries to be a proper good land-boy!

I want to make a joke about Savanaclaw boys having interesting habits in general, but I’ll stop myself.

And Ortho, well… he really is glad, he recorded a lot of useful data that day. Unfortunately. 😔

Unfortunately, it’s very likely that Silver shares his father’s unique bathroom philosophy, as much as a lot of other things in life… He probably used to have an outhouse when he lived in the forest though, but then again, he also had the entire forest. “Remember, Silver, the world is your urinal” – Lilia Mufasa Vanrouge, possibly.

But Silver also doesn’t like it when Lilia pees in bottles. This just doesn’t feel right, so he’ll likely try to discipline his father about this…

Sebek has parents that taught him good manners though, so he would never… admit to it, but he does pee in the shower sometimes. But he’d be super ashamed to admit it.

Malleus doesn’t do it in the shower, and he is aware of Lilia’s philosophy. Just another Lilia-related thing for him to sigh about…

To answer your question, Kalim, surprisingly, uses the toilet. He doesn’t think twice about these things, this is just what he is used to! He is also a little bit squeamish sometimes at very random moments.

But then again, he has his own golden urinal in his dorm, of course he’s going to use it.
